New Delhi, Jan 15: The Congress on Tuesday targetted the Narendra Modi government over the contemporary economic conditions.

Addressing a press conference, Congress leader Gaurav Vallabh said “Modi govt released Wholesale Price Index(WPI) and Consumer Price Index(CPI) inflation rates. WPI indicates the price at which farmers sell their produce. That has fallen to negative. CPI inflation is positive, which indicates the increasing purchase price of goods”.

“The Farmers move to construction sector to look for work in off seasons, but they’re suffering there too. Demonetisation scam and Gabbar Singh Tax are the main reasons for the destruction of informal sector”.

Continuing his attack Vallabh stated “Unemployment rate today increased to a staggering 7.5%, more than our neighbouring countries like Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Nepal”.

Hitting out at Union Minister Prakash Javedhkar, the Congress leader told media ” When asked about unemployment, HRD Minister responds saying, “people who don’t work out of choice are not unemployed”. He thinks 4 crore youth seeking jobs are unemployed out of choice”, “.
