New Delhi, 24 August: As many as 1,500 resident doctors at Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital went on indefinite strike after a patient allegedly manhandled their colleague on Wednesday(23 August), the news agency ANI reported.
The patient claimed that the doctor had been delaying his treatment that is why he took action against him.
However the Resident Doctors’ Association President Dheer Singh demanded security to check such attacks. He said, ‘the strike is indefinite. We have lodged an institutional FIR.” Dheer singh also alleged that these incidents are not new.
Patients are the main sufferers in this strike as emergency services were also interrupted at the hospital. A lady who arrived for the delivery of her daughter in law told ANI that she has no where else to go.
