Delhi’s Minor girl rescued from Bihar


New Delhi, Oct 5: After nearly one month, Police arrested two members of a child trafficking gang and rescued a minor girl from their clutches who was kidnapped from Sarojini Nagar, Delhi on 30 August.

The accused have been identified as Sanjay Rai, a resident of Bihar’s Motihari district, and Vinod Kumar, from Netaji Nagar in Delhi.

A 14-year-old girl, living in Sarojini Nagar in south Delhi was kidnapped on August 30 by Vinod when she was returning home from her tuition classes. Vinod told the victim that her father had met with an accident and he had sent him to take her to hospital.

Vinod later handed the minor girl to four youth who were waiting in a car and they took her to Labladpur village in Madhuban district of Bihar.

Police registered a case after victim’s father made a complaint on September 2 in Sarojini Nagar police station hat his daughter did not come home after leaving the tuition centre on August 30.
“During the investigation, police found that the victim on September 28 made a call to her father and informed him that she had was being held captive somewhere in Bihar. Police traced the location of phone in Labladpur village at Bihar with the help of surveillance and rescued the minor while arresting Vinod and Sanjay,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police, South, Ishwar Singh.

He also stated that Sanjay had also forcefully married her. Sanjay revealed that a woman, Sukho Devi, is also involved.
