Delhi, Dec 2: Relatives of two-newborn twins who were declared dead by Max Hospital yesterday sat in protest outside the hospital last night, say they will sit there until an action is taken against the hospital administration
In such a shocking case of Max hospital in Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh, doctors declared two-newborn twins dead and their bodies were handed over to parents but one newborn found alive by the family later.
After being declared dead, babies were given to us in packets, when we left for cremation ground we noticed movement & on checking found one was breathing. The Newborn and mother admitted to another hospital.
Delhi Police Spokesperson Deependra Pathak expressed shock over the negligence.
Hospital officials said that a 22-week, premature baby, was handed over to the family, which did not have any “signs of life”. However, later, when the body was being taken for last rites, the newborn was found to be alive.
Union Health Minister JP Nadda has also spoken to the Health Secretary in this regard, reports ANI.
Meanwhile, Swati Maliwal, Chairperson, Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) condemned the incident and said, “Horrifying incident. A Proper enquiry should be done in the matter and strictest action should be taken against those responsible.”
