Delhi : Traders shut shops to protest against GST regime

June 16, Friday: Wholesale markets were shut down in several places in Delhi such as Chandni Chowk, Karol Bagh , Nai Sadak , Gandhi Nagar to protest against the Centre’s decision to implement the Goods and Services Tax (GST) which is all set to roll out from July 1st.

Earlier on Thursday, Traders belonging to different market association gathered at Town Hall Chowk to stage demonstration.

Apart from Delhi, protest against Goods and Services Tax (GST) roll out were witnessed in Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat also.

In Surat, thousands of cloth merchants across the country participated in bandh. The protest was organised under the banner of Vyapari Sangharsh Samiti (VSS) and Federation of Surat Textile Traders Association (FOSTTA).

While in Jammu and Kashmir, traders called for statewide strike.
