Delhi Police offers Rs 10 lakh for info on missing JNU student Najeeb Ahmed

New Delhi, January 11: Failing to trace whereabouts of missing JNU student Najeeb Ahmad, Delhi Police on Friday announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for information on the mysterious case.

Three months back Najeeb (27) went missing on the night of October 15 after he had scuffle with ABVP students the previous day. The inexplicable disappearance of a student from the University campus stormed mass protests by students all across the capital. Huge pressure was built up on University administration, MHA and Delhi police to ensure that the missing student is back, however till date there is no update on the same.

“We started the investigation from the scratch and are looking at all clues and evidences. We increased the amount of the reward as we need help from the general public in this case,” a police officer explained. “We have released advertisement regarding this in all leading dailies and urge people to help us. Najeeb may have grown a beard and may not have resemblance with the given photo. So, people will have to keep this in mind,” he added.

Initially, DP had announced a reward of Rs 50,000 and revised it thrice to Rs 1 lakh, Rs 2 lakh, and last Rs 5 lakh in November.
