Delhi Police: ‘It is not a place to protest’, detains Rahul Gandhi again

Congress Vice President on Wednesday while trying to meet the family of an ex-serviceman was detained again by the police. The Congress vice-president had been detained earlier in the day too.

Rahul Gandhi was detained from the Connaught place police station. He targeted Narendra Modi and said “Let’s see how long I have to wait here. I am certain that I will talk to the family. This is a strange behavior. This is Modi’s ji’s country.”

Earlier in the day, Rahul was released after a short detention but he was detained yet again with other leaders including Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Special Commissioner Mukesh Kumar Meena informed the media that Rahul Gandhi despite being told not to enter the hospital tried the same. Thus, he has been detained again.

“It is a hospital and not a place for the demonstration. Rahul Gandhi detained at Mandir Marg Police Station for ‘disruption of duty’. Democracy doesn’t mean creating an obstruction. Leaders must also understand that hospital is not the place to hold any demonstrations,” he added.

An ex-army man, RAM KISHAN GAREHWAL who was part of the protest to demand One Rank One Pension for the armed forces committed suicide by consuming poison on Tuesday evening in a park here, police said on Wednesday.
