New Delhi, Sep 26: Delhi High Court has rejected  the ‘adopted daughter’ of rape convict Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Honeypreet Insan’s anticipatory bail application on Tuesday.

The court in its order observed that Honeypreet is just seeking more time by moving such an application, adding she does not deserve bail because she is evading arrest.

The Court said it is merely a camouflage she applied for bail in Delhi HC. As far as surrender is concerned, it is left to her, asserted Prosecution lawyer.

In its order the Court also asserted that it need to see bonafides whether the person actually resides in the jurisdiction of the concerned court.

Court said this is time pass;she filed application before Delhi HC whereas she should have done that in Punja and Haryana HC, he stated, news agency ANI reported.

Meanwhile, applicant’s counsel Pradeep Arya said “We are examining order, will see what can be done now.

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday was hearing the anticipatory bail plea of Honeypreet, who approached the court saying that she is ready to cooperate in the investigation from the day after tomorrow.

On being asked why she didn’t approach Punjab and Haryana High Court instead.

Her lawyer claimed that she fears for her life and hence has come to Delhi High Court. Following this  the court told Honeypreet to surrender in court if she fears for her life.

In her bail application, Insan has asserted that she is a single woman with clean antecedents, adding, “I am a law-abiding woman and willing to join the investigation.”
