The Delhi Government has taken an admirable step towards Economically Weaker Section of society. It has raised reimbursement amount to Rs 1598 from Rs 1290 in all private schools for admissions under EWS category for the upcoming academic session.
All private schools in the national capital will now get Rs 300 more per child who comes under EWS section.
Earlier, the Deputy Education minister Manish Sisodia received complaints from various private schools against “minimal amount” reimbursed by the government to them for allowing students under EWS category, in view of the complaints the decision to increase the amount has been taken.
“The government currently reimburses a fixed amount to private schools in lieu of taking admission of students who belong to this section. However, numerous complaints were received about the amount being less,” said a senior Directorate of Education (DoE) official .
“It has now been decided that the amount will be raised by Rs 300” the official added.
The Delhi Government introduced the process for the first time in which, the government has allotted over 26,600 seats through computerised draws under the EWS category during admissions.
