Delhi girl in SUV crushes 50-year old, drags victim’s body

Delhi, August 21 : A 50-year-old homeless woman was crushed to death after a 20-year old woman driving an SUV on the wrong side of the road ran over her  and dragged her body for almost 100 metres till the police stopped it at a barricade in Connaught Place on Sunday night.

Fashion designer Shreya Agarwal was driving on the wrong side. She was arrested even as she tried to escape and released on bail on Sunday itself.

Phoolwati, who stayed in a night shelter at Gurdwara Bangla Sahib was waiting outside a restaurant in outer circle to collect leftovers around 9 p.m. when the incident happened, the police said.

The SUV crushed woman identified as Phoolwati outside an eatery and dragged her for nearly 100 metres. The policemen and passers-by lifted the car to rescue Phoolwati. She was rushed to a hospital but was declared brought dead.
The blood alcohol report is awaited to confirm whether Shreya was under the influence at the time of the incident, the police said.
