New Delhi, Aug 21: A Delhi Police head constable was suspended on Saturday after charges of a rape attempt, an officer informed.
Raj Kumar, who was working in Sarai Rohilla Police Station in north Delhi, was accused by a woman of harassing her and trying to rape her on Thursday when she was alone at her home.
Woman filed the complaint on Friday, alleging that Kumar barged in her house in an inebriated condition and tried to rape her.
The woman revealed the police that she called her husband, who made a call to the Police Control Room (PCR) before locking Raj Kumar inside his house.
The head constable, however, managed to escape from the spot, the officer said, citing the woman’s complaint.
The woman also informed police that Kumar used to call her at odd hours and was stalking her for a few days.
“Following the woman’s complaint, Raj Kumar was placed under suspension and further investigation has been ordered,” the officer said.
