Delhi CM visits Kamla Market, orders enhanced compensation for fire-hit shopkeepers


New Delhi, Dec 2: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday paid visit to Kamla Market in the national capital where a major fire gutted more than 50 shops in October and ordered enhanced compensation to the affected shopkeepers.

Kejriwal said his cabinet will amend the policy to provide higher compensation.

Taking to twitter, he asserted “Ordered enhanced compensation to affected shopkeepers. Will amend policy to provide higher compensation to shopkeepers affected by such incidents in future,” Kejriwal said in a tweet, along with a video of his visit to the market.

More than 50 shops and godowns were gutted in a major fire that broke out in the market on October 24.
