Delhi Chief Secretary alleged assault case: High Court grants bail to AAP MLA Prakash Jarwal

New Delhi, March 9: AAP MLA Prakash Jarwal has been granted bail by the Delhi High Court on Friday in connection with the Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash alleged assault case.

Justice Mukta Gupta allowed the bail plea of Jarwal who was held on February 20.

Earlier, the court had reserved the bail petition of the Deoli legislator and asserted that it was a very unfortunate situation where the state and the officers feel unsafe and are being threatened by each other.

The bail plea of Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan, who was also nabbed in the alleged assault case on February 21, is pending before the court.

A magisterial court had earlier rejected bail to both leaders, stating the matter cannot be treated in “a casual and routine manner” while terming them as “history-sheeters”.

Delhi Chief Secretary alleged that he was manhandled by two AAP MLAs in the presence of Arvind Kejriwal at the CM’s residence here on February 19 night, where he had been called for a meeting.
