New Delhi: The capital woke up to a foggy morning with the visibility dropping to zero metre and affecting air traffic and vehicular movement in the streets on Monday. Several flights and trains were also hit by the fog.
According to a report in PTI 20 flights diverted, four cancelled, and around 530 delayed till 12.52 pm.
Airlines like IndiGo and SpiceJet have tweeted about poor visibility and asked passengers to keep a track of their flight status. “Due to poor visibility in Delhi, our flights are impacted. Do keep a track of your flight status. For rescheduling/cancellation, please visit Plan B,” the airline tweeted. SpiceJet tweeted, “Due to bad weather at Delhi (DEL), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights might get affected. Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status.”
Delhi Airport informed that due to bad weather, flight operations are affected. CAT III B compliant aircraft and pilots are currently able to land. Passengers are requested to stay in touch with the airline concerned for updated flight information.
The minimum temperature, in degrees Celsius, recorded at various stations of Delhi on Sunday was 2.8 at Lodi Road, 3.2 at Palam and 3.4 at Safdarjung.
