BJP’s national vice-president Vinay Sahasrabudde has kicked up a controversy on Monday as he sought to suspend reports of people dying while waiting in queues in front of banks and ATMs. He asserted that people even die while waiting in queues of rations as well. This statement was made while he was addressing a query about a man who died outside a bank after a waiting for hours in a queue in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district.
In an informal chat, while Sahasrabudde was interacting with reporters at the official residence of state public relations minister Narottam Mishra, he was asked if the government is aware of the fact that people are dying while waiting in queues in exchange of money, for which he replied that these are just accidents and nothing more than that.
On the other hand, Congress and AAP have strongly condemned this statement. Senior Congress member Bala Bachchan said, “The arrogance of power in BJP has now reached its zenith . BJP is taking the public for granted, but the party will fall flat on its face after elections.” While, AAP demanded Sahasrabuddhe to apologize people for his “irresponsible” statement. However, BJP members have not yet reacted to Sahasrabuddhe’s statement.
