New Delhi, January 20: Defying all the odds, Dangal star Zaira Wasim has come out as courageous as her character in Aamir Khan’s biopic on Geeta Phogat.
After winning accolades over her open confession on social media after her controversial meeting with chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, this time she takes on to sports minister Vijay Goel for tagging her to congratulate for breaking free the veil and societal restrictions as a Muslim Woman.
Late on Thursday, BJP’s senior leader Goel posted his picture on twitter wherein he is standing before a painting that showed two women one in a hijab and another cowering in a cage.
He tagged Dangal Star and congratulated her for breaking free the constraints and coming forward to win in life.
However Wasim did not like Goel’s mention and responded in a series of tweets on Friday. She told the Minister that he should not have connected her to such “discourteous depiction”. She also said that women in hijab are “beautiful and free”.
She added the story depicted is not even remotely relevant to hers.
Goel later replied to pacify her and remarked she had misinterpreted her as he appreciates her work and against “evil and patriarchal notions”.
