Dalit leader Jignesh Mevani’s convoy was attacked in Banaskantha on tuesday when he was there to address people for the upcoming Gujarat election.

In a tweet, Mevani accused BJP of this attack and ensured his supporters that BJP can not frighten him and he will not bow down. In his tweet, he said, “BJP has frightened that’s why it is adopting these kinds of activities, but I am not afraid, I am a revolutionary and I will not bow down to BJP but I will definitely defeat them.”

Jignesh Mevani is contesting independently from the Vadgaon-11 seat of Banaskantha district. Congress has not raised candidates against them. Jignesh Mevani is a social activist and lawyer by profession. He had launched the ‘Azadi Cooch Movement’ in which about 20,000 Dalits were administered the oath of not killing the dead animals and not carrying dirt.
