Dalit girl dies of burn injuries at Delhi’s Safdarjung hospital

New Delhi, Dec 20: A 15-year old Dalit girl, who was set on fire by two unidentified persons in Uttar Pradesh, succumbed to her injuries at Safdarjung Hospital in the national capital. 

According to the police, the Class 10 student took her breath on Wednesday late night.

The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon, two bike-borne attackers stopped the student on her way home in Agra’s Lalau village and emptied a bottle of petrol on her and set her ablaze.

She was rushed to the SN Medical College with 75 per cent burns and then shifted to the Safdarjang Hospital.

As per the reports, the police have detained six suspects from Kagraul, Khaulawa, Naripura, Naumeel and two from the victim’s village (the girl’s relative and neighbour) and are interogating them.
