Cyclone Titli: Rescue, relief operation underway in Odisha

Bhubneshwar, Oct 13: Indian Naval Diving team undertook rescue and relief operation at Aksa village in Ganjam district of Odisha following Cyclone Titli on Saturday.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected districts of Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada.

“Relief work and restoration are underway. I shall have a meeting this evening in Bhubaneshwar after which I will announce a package for flood-affected people.Once we do a detailed research into this then we will decide how much fund to ask from Centre”, Patnaik told media.

Meanwhile, Naval Chetak helicopters dropped food supply in accessible areas of Ganjam and Gajapati districts. Food supplies are being airdropped at 19 locations in the two districts.

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), the depression over Odisha has moved East-Northeastwards in the past six hours and is likely to maintain as a depression for the upcoming 12 hours and weaken thereafter.
