County accepted mayor’s resignation after ‘ape’ controversy

The mayor of Clay, West Virginia, has resigned right after he made such derogatory comment for Michelle Obama, an ‘ape in heels’. Following this another county official is held in regards of a racist Facebook post that compared first lady Michelle Obama to an “ape in heels.”

On the other hand, Pamela Taylor, the county employee who have worked as the director of the Clay County Development Corporation written on Facebook: “It will be so refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified First Lady back in the White House. I’m tired of seeing a (sic) Ape in heels,” according to a screenshot taken by media sources.

Mayor Beverly Whaling commented on the post saying: “Just made my day Pam,” the screenshot shows.

Clay County Commissioner Greg Fitzwater confirmed to media sources that Whaling resigned, but it is not yet confirmed if Taylor was terminated or resigned her post. But he said that she was no longer working for the county.

However, an attempt to reach both Whaling and Taylor for comment and have not heard back.
