he vaccination dry run begins in all states and Union Territory administrations to launch the immunisation drive against the Covid-19 infection, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said the coronavirus vaccine will be free across India. Assuring about the vaccine’s efficacy and safety, Harsh Vardhan urged people to not pay heed to the anti-vaccine rumours.
Harsh Vardhan had visited Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital in Delhi to review the coronavirus vaccination dry run drill which started in the national capital today. When asked if people will have to pay for the coronavirus vaccine just like in Delhi, Harsh Vardhan retorted, “Delhi mein nahi saare desh mein free hogi [Not just in Delhi, it [vaccine] will be free across the country.”
Harsh Vardhan later took to Twitter and said the free vaccine will be provided across the nation to one crore healthcare and two crore frontline workers.
“In 1st phase of #COVID19Vaccination free #vaccine shall be provided across the nation to most prioritised beneficiaries that incl 1 crore healthcare & 2 crore frontline workers. Details of how further 27 cr priority beneficiaries are to be vaccinated until July are being finalised,” Harsh Vardhan said.
