Syrian Strike

Beijing, April 14: China on Saturday criticized the allied airstrikes conducted by the US, Britain, and France in Syria and said it violated the UN Charter, complicating further the conflict’s solution.

Any unilateral military action that bypassed the United Nations Security Council violated the basic principles and norms of international law, news agency IANS reported citing a statement from Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said.

“Such an action also added new and complicated factors to finding a solution to the situation in Syria,” she added.

In retaliation for a chemical weapons attack in Douma,  theUS military launched strikes on Syrian chemical weapons capabilities in coordination with Britain and France on Friday.
