New Delhi,Jan7: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee has written a letter to President Ram Nath Kovind and sought enhanced security cover for Goa CM Manohar Parrikar citing that there may be attempts on the chief minister’s life to obtain Rafale files .
The GPCC argued that there are certain elements who do not want details of the deal to come in public domain as it will expose the corruption in the fighter jet deal.
This move comes after Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala had released an audio clip and claimed that the voice belonged to Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Pratapsingh Rane. In the audio clip, Rane said that the CM, during a cabinet meeting, had claimed that Rafale files were in his bedroom.
Parrikar was the defence minister when the deal was signed with the French aircraft manufacturer Dassault Aviation.
