Ujjain, Oct 29: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday promised to waive farm loans in 10 days if voted to power in Madhya Pradesh.
Addressing a gathering in Ujjain, he said “I don’t make fake promises. Within 10 days of the elections, Chief Minister of Congress party will waive off the loans of farmers in Madhya Pradesh. And if the CM will make excuses, another Chief Minister of Congress will waive the loans”.
Gandhi accused the government of favouring industrialists, citing an incident where a poor woman was arrested after she failed to pay her electricity bill.
“In Ujjain, when a poor woman fails to pay her electricity bill which amounted to ₹1,00,000, Govt arrests her. On the other hand, when people like Vijay Mallya abscond with ₹9,000Cr, no action is taken”.
“CM Shivraj Chouhan destroyed textile industry which had the capability to compete with Chinese and Bangladeshi industries. We will reinvigorate the textile industry”, he stated.
Continuing his attack on state government, the Congress chief said: “In Vyapam Scam 50 people are killed and the education system is destroyed”.
