Congress compares Modi with Aurangzeb, Says undeclared emergency under BJP’s rule

New Delhi, June 26: Congress fired back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for commenting on the 1975 Emergency period, saying since last 49 months, there is an undeclared emergency in the country.

Addressing media, Senior Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala also compared the Prime Minister with Aurangzeb and said Modi has done more anarchy than the Mughal ruler.

“There is an undeclared emergency in this country for the last 49 months with opposition suppressed and PM Modi himself following them who give death and rape threats to anyone who oppose them, including Union Minister Sushma Swaraj”.

The Congress leader accused the Prime Minister of trying to divert current issues by raking up history ahead of 2019 elections.

He further said that Modi’s mounting promises have been turned out to be lies. Black money hasn’t returned yet and democracy under the NDA- BJP government is dying.

“Atmosphere of fear is created to suppress dissent”, the Congress leader added.

Surjewala’s reaction came to PM Modi’s Mumbai speech where he launched a scathing attack on the grand old party over the emergency.
