New Delhi, July 17: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said his party stands with the exploited, marginalised and the persecuted, without discriminating them on the basis of religion, caste or beliefs.

“I stand with the last person in the line. The exploited, marginalised and the persecuted. Their religion, caste or beliefs matter little to me, I seek out those in pain and embrace them. I erase hatred and fear. I love all living beings. I am the Congress,” he tweeted.

His comment was an indirect attack on Bharatiya Janata Party ‘s allegations that he called Congress a “Muslim party”.

Targetting Rahul Gandhi last week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “I read in the newspapers that naamdaar (entitled) said the Congress is a party of the Muslims. I am not surprised… When the previous prime minister was in charge, he said openly that the first use of natural resources should be with Muslims”.

In a scathing attack, the Congress chief on July 14 said that BJP and RSS believe freedom of expression must be policed and controlled.

” BJP/RSS believe the freedom of expression must be policed and controlled. I believe this freedom is a fundamental democratic right”, he stated.
