Panaji, March 18: The Congress delegation on Monday met Goa Governor Mridula Sinha in Panaji and staked claim to form government in the coastal state.
We met the Governor and staked claim to form government as we are the single largest party in the state, said Congress leader Chandrakant Kavlekar.
“We have 14 MLAs and we should be given the chance to form the government. We have told that we will prove majority. Saddened by demise of Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
In the 36-member Legislative Assembly, the Congress has 14 MLAs, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has 12 legislators.
