PM Modi acted against CBI Director out of panic, says Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, Oct 26: Congress workers and leaders staged a countrywide protest on Friday against the Narendra Modi government decision to divest Central Bureau of Investigation Chief Alok Verma of his powers and send him on leave.

Meanwhile, Party president Rahul Gandhi and other leaders who were protesting near CBI headquarters in the national capital were also detained. Later they were released.

“PM can run, he can hide but in the end, truth will be revealed. Removing CBI Director will not help. PM acted against CBI Director; it was an act out of panic”, Gandhi said after leaving Lodhi Colony police station.

He was accompanied by party leaders Bhupinder Hooda, Ahmed Patel, Ashok Ghelot and Randeep Singh Surjewala as well as opposition leaders Nadimul Haque (Trinamool Congress), D. Raja (CPI) and Sharad Yadav (Loktantrik Janata Dal).
