Congress MP, former union minister Manish Tewari tests positive for coronavirus

Congress Lok Sabha MP Manish Tewari tested positive for coronavirus on Monday. The former Union minister made the announcement on Twitter while advising those who came in touch with him in recent days to get themselves tested.

In a tweet on Monday, Manish Tewari said, “I have tested positive for COVID -19 today afternoon. I got up with mild fever around 2 AM last night. Got myself tested first thing in the morning.Two parallel Tests. No other symptoms so far.All those who have been in contact with me over the past few days are advised caution.”

Manish Tewari was Union minister of Information and Broadcasting during the UPA-II regime between 2012 and 2014.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh Congress Rajya Sabha MP Neeraj Dangi, and the working president of the party’s Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Revanth Reddy were among those who wished Manish Tewari a speedy recovery on Twitter.

The news of Lok Sabha MP from Sri Anandpur Sahib, Manish Tewari testing positive for Covid-19 comes on the same day as senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel was admitted to an ICU after he was diagnosed with the virus.

On Sunday, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh tested positive for coronavirus. Former Rajasthan deputy CM and sitting Lok Sabha MP from Tonk, Sachin Pilot was also diagnosed with the infection earlier this week.
