New Delhi, July 29, 2017: After six Gujarat Congress MLAs tendered their resignation, a delegation of party leaders will approach Election Commission on Saturday over the issue.

Senior Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad, Anand Sharma, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Vivek Tankha and Manish Tewari will be part of the delegation.

The delegation is expected to reach at the ECI at 5 PM today and submit a petition accusing the BJP of poaching their legislators.

The Congress has flown down its MLAs to Bengaluru yesterday in late damage control after six of them resigned in the last two days. Three have joined the BJP, in what is seen as an elaborate plan scripted to stall the return of senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel to the Rajya Sabha in elections next week.
