New Delhi, Feb 27 : The Congress on Thursday demanded Home Minister Amit Shah’s resignation over the ‘failure’ of National Investigating Agency (NIA) to file a chargesheet against the accused of Pulwama attack, a claim which the NIA has refuted.

“It was an attack on the soul of India. The BJP wasted no time in using that attack to garner votes. They actually shamelessly used the martyrdom of our jawans, pasted their photographs in their election rallies. One year later, the so-called nationalism of the BJP stands exposed. A Delhi court has granted bail to Jaish e Mohammed terrorist Yusuf Chopan, accused of Pulwama attack conspiracy after the National Investigation Agency (NIA) failed to file a charge-sheet”, Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera said while talking to reporters at party headquarters.

The NIA, however, rejected the media reports and said that the accused Mr Chopan was never arrested in the Pulwama attack case that killed 40 jawan of CRPF February 14, 2019.

The organisation said when the whole country is struggling to fight the novel coronavirus pandemic, Youth Congress stands determined to work with the government in this fight.

“To address the issue of medical supplies, PPEs, groceries, food and clean drinking water to the underprivileged masses, various teams of the IYC are working across the country, day and night to ensure proper supply of these basic necessities,” said B V Shrinivas acting president of IYC.

The country is facing its worst epidemic crisis in recent times as COVID-19 cases in the country surpassed 1,000-mark and the death toll has risen to 27. Along with all the infections, as well as the deaths, there has also been an unprecedented rise in unemployment across the daily wage sector and the unorganized sector, which has led to massive migration of the underprivileged people, from bigger cities to countryside.

This surge has unfortunately also ensured the inaccessibility of these masses to things of basic necessities as enumerated above. While, the governments across the country are making their own provisions to reach out to these people, all IYC cadre across Vidhan Sabha level, district level, state level and national level are working relentlessly to get relief to the affected group of people, while following all governmental guidelines regarding social distancing and other precautions.

“The idea behind these activities is not to achieve any particular political objective but it is to inspire the masses by leadership, so that privileged people may also contribute towards the betterment of the destitute in these trying times,” said Amrish Ranjan Pandey, Media in-charge of Youth Congress.

Hridaya Narayan Dixit

Lucknow, March 30 : UP Assembly Speaker Hridaya Narayan Dixit has said that the ‘Atharva Veda’ describes the ways and means to fight against epidemics and pandemics.

The Speaker is now coming up with a book interpreting the Atharva Veda, which he said deals with medicine, social relations and nationalism.

“It is interesting to note that while American and European scholars have conducted researches on Atharva Veda, it has only been translated but never researched or interpreted in India. I am going to complete it in Hindi soon,” he said.

Explaining further, Dixit said, “Nearly 60 per cent of Atharva Veda is devoted to Ayurveda, the traditional system of medicine in India. ‘Charak Samhita’ is based on chapters from the Atharva Veda, which deal with the causes of epidemics and possible ways to fight them.”

He said that research on the scripture may provide some solution to the coronavirus outbreak which has now spread to all parts of the world.

He said it was unfortunate that Indian authors did not work on it.

Hriday Narain Dixit has already written several books on Hindu mythology, ‘Bhagavad Gita’, science, environment, Constitution and nationalism.
