Congress again faces trouble in Arunachal, Khandu leads exit


Arunachal Pradesh, Sep 16, 2016: In a major blow to Congress government in Arunachal Pradesh, 43 legislators of the party out of the 46 have joined the People’s Party of state, which also includes the current chief minister Pema Khandu.

In an assembly of 60 members, Congress has 46 lawmakers while 11 members belong to the BJP.

Khandu said that “Have met the assembly speaker and informed him that they are merging the Congress with the People’s Party of Arunachal or PPA.”

However, Two independent lawmakers have also joined the PPA.

Former chief minister Nabam Tuki and a few other MLAs continue to be in the Congress.
