According to TV reports, in the written complaint, the youth filed complaint against the song featuring Priya for hurting the sentiments of Muslim community. However, the complaint says nothing against the actress.
Muqeeth Khan, one of the complainants, told Times Now that the video insults Prophet Mohammad. “After listening to the song, I went for the translation of the lyrics,” he said. “The translation is about our Prophet.”
While the report also mentions that the group has nothing against the actress, an FIR is yet to be filed by the police in the matter, repoprted Times Now.
Khan said a boy and girl were shown romancing while, in the background, the prophet’s name comes up. He added that he had filed a complaint in an attempt to exercise his freedom of speech.
Within few hours of its release, the song became a hit amongst viewers.
The song was launched online on February 9. It garnered almost 10,000,000 views on YouTube till Tuesday evening.
The actor, Roshan Abdul is being equally loved by female fans across India and even in neighbouring countries.
Priya’s debut film, releasing next month, is written and directed by Omar Lulu, and produced by Ousepachan Vaalakuzhy under the banner of Ousepachan Movie House. It stars a bunch of newcomers and has music by Shaan Rahman.
