CM Yediyurappa tests positive for Covid-19, admitted to hospital

This is the second time the 78-year-old Yediyurappa has tested positive, first being on August 2 last year

Bengaluru, Apr 16: Several minutes after holding a meeting with officials to discuss the covid-19 situation in the state, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa admitted to Ramaiah Hospital in here on Friday, April 16.

According to television reports, Yediyurappa on has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

It is said that Chief Minister was suffering from fever for the past two days. He had undergone the covid-19 test two days ago and tested negative.

Meanwhile, Karnataka on Thursday, reported its sharpest single-day spike of 14,738 fresh coronavirus cases and 66 related fatalities, taking the total number of infections to 11.09 lakh and the toll to 13,112. Bengaluru Urban reported 10,497 cases out of the 14,738 fresh cases reported on Thursday.

The state had previously reported its biggest single-day spike of 11,265 cases on Wednesday.
