Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti will visit Kupwara district on Saturday in context with the simmering anger over the death of five civilians and several others left injured in alleged firing and tear gas shelling by security forces in the last two days.
According to the reports, Earlier on Friday, a class 11 student was killed and four others were injured after security forces opened fire in the district to disperse protesters who were pelting stones on an Army camp during a demonstration.
The situation in the north Kashmir district has worsened following fresh casualties, as more people are taking to streets against the killings.
Kashmir, particularly Handwara town in Kupwara district, is tense over the last four days in the wake of the death of five youth and a woman in firing by security personnel during a violent protest against the alleged molestation of the girl student by an Army man on April 12.
