Choose the Best: Hyundai Verna, Honda City & Maruti Suzuki Ciaz

New Delhi, Aug 24: Hyundai Verna introduced its new segment cars in the competition with mid-size sedan segment in Indian market – Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. 

They are different from each other in various ways:

Design

The new Hyundai Verna follows the Fluidic 2.0 design philosophy with very simple appearance. The Honda City on the other hand has a bold design with funky look and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz  has a little old but manages to look sophisticated.

Engine

The Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz are all offered with petrol and diesel engines.

Verna offered a set of 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines. Both the engines are available with a six-speed manual and six-speed automatic gearbox. The diesel puts out 123bhp and 151Nm of torque while the diesel motor can dish out 128bhp and 260Nm of torque.

The Honda City is comes with 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The 1.5-litre iVTEC (petrol) unit is capable of churning out 119bhp and 145Nm of torque while the 1.5-litre iDTEC (diesel) can dish out 100bhp and 200Nm of torque. The petrol engine can be opted for with a five-speed manual gearbox or a CVT while the diesel is only available with a six-speed manual.

The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz uses a 1.4-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre diesel engine that are tuned to produce 93bhp/130Nm and 90bhp/200Nm, respectively. The petrol can be had with a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic gearbox. The diesel can only be had with a five-speed manual gearbox.

Price

The new 2017 Hyundai Verna ex-showroom, New Delhi price is between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 12.62 lakh.

The Honda City price starts from Rs.8.46 and goes all the way up to Rs 13.43 lakh.

The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is the cheapest of the lot with the price starting at Rs 7.66 lakh and going all the way up to Rs 11.55 lakh.

SRK shows support for Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, unveils portable bin for cars

New Delhi, Feb 9: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan on Thursday showed support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by unveiling ‘Swachh Can’, a portable bin for users of Hyundai cars.

It was launched under Hyundai Motor India Limited’s ‘Swachh Move’ that supports Modi’s cleanliness campaign.

“‘Swachh Can’ is a simple yet powerful idea and I would like to request every single car owner to go ahead and use it and play their role in the Clean India Movement,” Shah Rukh, dressed in a black and white suit with a waistcoat, said at the Auto Expo at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, on Thursday.

Shah Rukh, also the Hyundai Corporate Brand Ambassador, has even taught his youngest son AbRam to focus on cleanliness and be a part of the cleanliness movement.

YK Koo, Managing Director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd, said: “We recently conducted a survey of car owners and found 98 per cent respondents care about cleanliness of outside infrastructure such as streets, and more than 95 per cent respondents favoured they would prefer a portable covered bin inside the car in which waste items could be disposed off. This led us to innovation of ‘Swachh Can.”

Starting from March 1, the Hyundai product line-up will come with a factory-fitted ‘Swachh Can’.

New Delhi, Feb 7: Luxury automobile major Mercedes-Benz on Wednesday launched its Mercedes Maybach S 650 and teased its E-Class All-Terrain model for its upcoming India debut.

The company also launched its Made-in-India BS-VI Mercedes Maybach S 560 to continue Maybach’s popularity in India.

While the S 650 model would cost Rs 2.73 crore (ex-showroom), the S 560 would be priced at Rs 1.94 crore, the company said.

The luxury car brand also showcased it futuristic electric vehicle “EQ concept”.

The company made the announcement at the pre-open event of the 14th Auto Expo.

The “Auto Expo — The Motor Show” 2018 is being held from February 9-14, , at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida.

However, February 7-8 is reserved for the media and exhibitors.

New Delhi, Feb 7: Automobile major Hyundai Motor India unveiled the new Elite i20 at the pre-open event of the 14th Auto Expo in Greater Noida on Wednesday. The company also said that it will launch nine new models, including an electric vehicle in the Indian market by 2020. 

The company made the announcement at the pre-open event of the 14th Auto Expo.

The “Auto Expo — The Motor Show” 2018 is being held from February 9-14, 2018 at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida.

However, February 7-8 is reserved for the media and exhibitors.

Over the years, the Auto Expo has become much less of an event and more of a phenomenon considering that in 2016, the ‘2016 Auto Expo’ was the third most searched topic on Google in India as per Google records. Engaging the populace through a flash-flood of media, with over 2.9 lakh tweets being generated around the Expo in 2018, the 2016 edition saw over 7 lakh people in 7 days, Preparations this year will encompass 8 lakh visitors over the 7-day period.
