Bhopal, Nov 12: In a big boost, Congress candidate Nilanshu Chaturvedi on Sunday attained a comfortable win with more than 14,100 votes over his BJP rival Shankar Dayal Tripathi in Chitrakoot Assembly bypoll in Madhya Pradesh.
Post ninth round of counting in the Assembly bypoll the Congress was leading by more than 18,000 votes against BJP.

The counting began at around 8 am and at the end of sixth round Chaturvedi was leading by 6,000 votes.
Around 65 per cent voting was recorded in the bypoll which took place on November 9.
However, 12 candidates contested the poll including nine independent, but the main battle was between Chaturvedi and Tripathi.
