Chilli powder thrown at Arvind Kejriwal inside Delhi Secretariat

New Delhi, Nov 20: In a major security lapse, chilli powder was thrown on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal inside the Secretariat premises on Tuesday.

According to media reports, the suspect has been identified as Anil Kumar and taken to IP estate police station.

The Chief Minister’s spectacles also broke in the attack.

“Anil Kumar came to meet Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in the Secretariat to share his grievances.He handed a note to the CM and touched his feet, and chilli powder fell down from his hand (pic 2).Probe underway whether it was an attack or powder fell unintentionally”, Delhi Police said in a statement.

Rogue elements who are attacking the Delhi Chief Minister are backed by the BJP, AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj told media.

“Attackers know they will get all protection from the Central Government”.

Bhardwaj further said that “BJP’s Central Govt has created an atmosphere where anti-social elements are being instigated and promoted to attack CM Kejriwal”.

Meanwhile, another AAP leader Raghav Chadda stated ” The attackers are being provided full impunity by the Delhi Police, the police has no intention to take firm action against the attack on the CM”.
