Chief Secy assault row: High Court issues notice to Delhi Police

New Delhi, March 1: The Delhi High Court on Thursday issued a notice to the Delhi police over the bail plea of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Prakash Jarwal, an accused in Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash assault case.

The court also sought a reply from the Police in this regard and fixed March 7 to file the response.

After denial of bail by the Tis Hazari Court last week, Jarwal approached the HC for the bail again.

A Delhi Court on Friday rejected a bail plea filed by the AAP MLAs Amanatullah Khan and Jarwal, in connection with an alleged assault on  Chief Secretary. They were sent to judicial custody for 14 days.

Earlier, the Court had dismissed the police’s application seeking their custody.

Both the AAP MLAs were named in the FIR filed by Prakash. They were arrested by the Delhi police last Wednesday.

Last week, Chief Secretary Prakash alleged that he was beaten up by AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan and another AAP MLA on February 19 night in the presence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at the CM’s residence here, where he had been called for a meeting.
