New Delhi, March 14: Ahead of 2019 World Cup, Indian cricketer, Mohammed Shami has been handed a huge blow. A charge sheet has been filed against the bowler under IPC 498A (dowry harassment) and 354A (sexual harassment).
In March last year, Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan had accused him of domestic violence and multiple extra-marital affairs. The Bengal pacer had then been probed by the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) in India’s anti-corruption officials after allegations were made by his estranged wife that he had taken money from Pakistani contacts.
But at the end of the investigations by the head of the BCCI anti-corruption unit Neeraj Kumar, the paceman was found not guilty.
Shami last played for India in the just-concluded ODI series against Australia, where he picked five wickets in four matches.
