Chandigarh Stalking Case: Amarinder Singh alleges cover-up, demands strong action

New Delhi, Aug 8: Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh on Tuesday condemning the stalking incident in which a senior IAS officer’s daughter was stalked by Haryana BJP Chief Subhash Barala’s son, alleged a cover-up in the case.

Singh also demanded strong action taken against the accused. He said “Doesn’t matter whose son he is. If we give free hand to police they’ll find things out.”

Speaking on the police’s earlier claim that the CCTV footage was not accessible, Singh stated “This was wrong. No one should be protected. There’s certainly covering up.”

In a lastest development, the police have found concrete proof that Haryana BJP chief’s son and his friend chased the car of Varnika Kunda.

While the news the CCTV footage came to into the limelight late on Monday after the police witnessed criticism earlier in the day when they said the CCTVs along the particular stretch was not functional.

Haryana BJP Chief Subhash Barala’s son, Vikas Barala along his friend Ashish Kumar was arrested under sections of the IPC and Motor Vehicles Act last week and got bail within an hours.
