Chad President Idriss Deby re-elected with 79.32%: provisional result

Chad’s long-ruling President Idriss Deby Itno was re-elected to a sixth term with 79.32 percent of the votes cast in April 11’s election, according to provisional results from the electoral commission on Monday.

Chad President Idriss Deby has won re-election, provisional results from the April 11 poll showed on Monday, extending his 30 years in power.

Former prime minister Albert Pahimi Padacke received just 10.32 percent in the presidential vote, while turnout was 64.81 percent, Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) chairman Kodi Mahamat Bam said.
