New Delhi, Dec 20: The government’s Ministry of Highways and Road Transport (MORTH) has banned bull-bars on cars and SUVs in India.
The government in its order issued on December 7, said that the use of bullbars is in direct contravention of the Section 52 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
“The fitment of crash guards/bull bar is in contravention of Section 52 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and attracts penalty under Section 190 and Section 191 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. States have to take strict action against those vehicle owners who resort to the unauthorised fitment of crash guard/bull bar on the motor vehicles”, NewsX reported.
In India, vehicles have seen a lot of bullbars being used as accessories which are often available at the point of sale.
