Central Intellengies has informed the SPG and anti terror a few weeks ago about the possibility of the coordinate attacks on 15 August.

PM Narendra Modi has been advised by the security agencies to address people from within a bulletproof enclosure at Red Fort this Independence Day as the chances of attack on him are much higher this year.

Intelligence agencies after intercepting communication warned the security agencies that terror outfits like ISIS, Al-Qaida, Lashkar-e-Toiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and splinter groups like Hizbul Mujahideen and Harkat-ul-Jehadi-Islami could use drones to breach Narendra Modi’s security cordon.

Intelligence agencies have also cautioned Special Protection Group (SPG) and other security agencies of possible lone-wolf attack on PM Modi during his address to the nation on this Independence Day.

The use of bulletproof enclosures have became a tradition after Indira Gandhi’s assassination. But since Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, he has been ignoring the advisory and doing away with the bulletproof enclosure while giving his speech on Independence Day.

In order to tighten PM’ security this year following higher threat perception, SPG commandos will cover the area from where the PM will deliver his Independence Day speech with an overhead bullet-proof canopy.
