CBSE papers leak: Police arrest coaching centre owner and 2 teachers

New Delhi, April 1: In the major breakthrough in CBSE papers leak scam, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police arrested three individuals on Sunday. Among those arrested include two teachers and the owner of a coaching centre.

The teachers – Rishabh and Rohit – belong to a school in outer Delhi area and were arrested in Sunday morning. The school teachers clicked the images and sent it to Tauqir, the coaching institute owner, based in Bawana. Tauqir then passed it to students.

Paper was also leaked in handwritten form, for which probe is on, reported news agency ANI.

The paper was leaked half-an-hour before the scheduled test.

On Saturday, Google told authorities that a Class 10 student used father’s ID to send mail to the board chairperson about the paper being leaked. Both the student and his father were questioned.

Over 60 people, including 53 students and seven teachers were questioned till now. Police later zeroed in on 6 WhatsApp groups that figured in the trail of transmission of papers and they are being probed.

The board has announced a re-examination of the Class 12 Economics paper on 25 April, while the re-test for the Class 10 Maths paper is likely to be conducted in July only in Delhi, NCR and Haryana.
