At least five people were killed and 39 injured after a car bomb blast has hit a police headquarters in in Turkey’s Diyarbakir province. A woman and a baby are among the dead. Rescuers are continuing to search through rubble at the scene in Cinar district, Diyarbakir province.
Officials blamed the blast on Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) militants, who are active in the mainly Kurdish province
The blast destroyed the entire face of a multi-story police HQ in Turkey’s Diyarbakir province .
No group has so far said it carried out the attack.There are fears that people may still be trapped under the rubble
There are reports that 8 terrorists had been killed in clashes with police following the bombing.
Diyarbakir province has seen violent clashes between PKK separatists and the Turkish army in recent months.
A ceasefire between the army and the PKK collapsed in July, and Turkish jets have since bombed PKK bases in northern Iraq and the army launched a ground operation there
