Ayushmann Khurrana's wife Tahira Kashyap has documented her journey battling cancer on social media
Mumbai, April 29: Writer-director and Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife Tahira Kashyap has documented her journey battling cancer on social media.

From sharing a series of photographs of herself showing how chemotherapy affected her to talking about the change in her attitude towards life due to the disease, Tahira on Saturday took to Instagram to open up about her struggles on being a cancer patient.

Dedicating her post “to women of all shapes and sizes and to all those posts I get when they fret losing their hair during or after chemotherapy”, she wrote: “I am hoping there is a change in the perception of that one perfect flavour that we have always had.

“The last couple of months have been an extreme case of metamorphosis for me. And I am not categorising it whether it was from a caterpillar to a butterfly phase or vice-versa. I could be the larva or the pupa or any other intermediate stage as each phase is unique and special.

“But there is a deep sense of acceptance when it comes to the life cycle of this creature. Taking a ‘leaf’ from this caterpillar’s life, I feel I have undergone a tremendous change mentally and physically too.

“From my obsession with long hair, associating beauty with rapunzel tresses, and hiding most of the time behind my hair (as I felt secure, lest my crooked nose, or freckles or pimples or simply not so chiseled face isn’t exposed) to losing my hair, wearing extensions and a cap, going bald to now a short crop, I am enjoying every phase because somehow with hair I lost my insecurity, my stupid notion of beauty and my complexes.”

She doesn’t know whether she will be keeping long hair or not, “in either case I am not going to hide my face”.

“I have changed my own mindset and my biggest victory is changing the mindset and perception of my seven-year-old-son, the next generation. From running to get a cap and placing it on my head when I was losing my hair and had a bald patch to proudly introducing me to his friends when I was bald or now with short hair, I feel I am a part of a change,” she added.

Mumbai, Aug 14 : Actor Sanjay Dutt will be finishing the dubbing of his upcoming film Sadak 2 before taking a break from work for his medical treatment.

The 61-year-old had announced on Tuesday that he would be taking a “short break” from his work commitments to take care of his health.

“He (Dutt) will finish the dubbing work before going on the break. He has a very little work left and he is doing that,” source close to the film’s production told PTI.

Dutt was admitted to Lilavati Hospital last weekend after he complained of breathlessness. He was discharged on Monday.

A day after coming home, the actor issued a statement on social media requesting his well-wishers to not speculate about his health amid rumours that he has been diagnosed with lung cancer.

Dutt has not yet officially commented on the nature of his diagnosis.

The actor’s wife, producer Maanayata Dutt on Wednesday said the Bollywood star is a “fighter” who has always emerged winner amid adverse conditions and urged fans to not fall prey to speculations.

“We need all the strength and prayers to overcome this phase. There is a lot that the family has gone through in the past years but I am confident, this too shall pass,” she said.

Dutt is currently awaiting the release of “Sadak 2” and “Bhuj: The Pride of India”, which will premiere on Disney+Hotstar.

He will also star in the second installment of “KGF”, “Shamshera”, alongside Ranbir Kapoor, and “Torbaaz”.

In 2019, the actor had featured in three movies — Ashutosh Gowariker’s period drama “Panipat”, Karan Johar-produced “Kalank” and political drama “Prassthanam”.

Mumbai, Aug 14 : Actress Kubbra Sait jokes she has lost her virginity to the Covid-19 test, adding that it was not as bad as she imagined.

“I lost my virginity to the covid test. Really it wasn’t half as bad as my mind had conjured it to be. It was a quick in and out. Reminded me of a few ex lovers. It made me sneeze. Ok bye,” Kubbra tweeted.

However, the “Sacred Games” actress did not share the reason behind taking the test.

Earlier this year, Kubbra had shared that she feels people should stop whining about lockdown, adding that since it is not in our control the best thing is to “just chill out”.

“Stop whining about the lockdown, it makes no sense. It is not in your control. So please stop whining, it is not going to change if you whine a little more or little less today so just chill out,” Kubbra had said.

“I think, let us just accept what’s happening right now. I know it is an old cliche, but it works especially in the times that we are in right now,” she had added.

Talking about how her habit changed during lockdown, she said: “The thing is that I used to hate brushing. I always felt I have no time to brush my teeth. I used to be like who is going to spend five extra minutes to brush their teeth. So yeah, now I brush like three to four times a day and I am very proud of myself. I hope my dentist would be just as proud of me.”
