The department said a male suspect in black clothing was seen at the location.
It was not immediately clear if the victims suffered gunshot wounds or other injuries, said Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman Christopher Thomas.
Authorities in California were responding to an active shooter situation at a high school in Santa Clarita, a city north of Los Angeles.
A suspect described as a male Asian in black clothing was still at large, the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff said on Twitter.
