Kolkata, Dec 21: The Chief Justice bench of Calcutta High Court on Friday quashed the single bench’s order allowing the Bharatiya Janata Party’s yatra in West Bengal.

The Division Bench of Chief Justice Debasish Kargupta and Justice Shampa Sarkar sent the case back to the single bench with a directive that the latter consider the intelligence inputs provided by the state agencies.

The bench of Justice Tapobrata Chakraborty yesterday gave conditional permission to the BJP and allowed three rath yatras saying the organisers will be liable for any untoward incident or damage to public property.

Following this, the Bengal government today moved the division bench challenging the court order.
