New Delhi, Oct 3: Police apprehended a 40-year-old cab driver for a private company in Gurgaon for allegedly assaulting a ten-year-old girl from east Delhi’s Preet Vihar area.
According to the Police, the accused identified as Ravi was held after the victim’s parents filed a complaint . The driver has been sent to Tihar Jail.
On Friday evening, the minor girl was playing outside her home. Ravi approached her and lured her on the pretext of a joy ride in his car but he took her to a secluded place where he allegedly molested her.
He also threatened her with dire consequences, if she told anyone about the incident, before dropping her back home.
“The girl next day, victim narrated the ordeal to her mother, following which a case was registered against Ravi in Preet Vihar Police Station on the basis of her statement. Ravi was arrested under charges of Sections 363 (Punishment for kidnapping), 342 (Punishment for wrongful confinement) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code,” said a police officer.
